The point? I'm not entirely sure who made it up, or why it keeps continuing.

I like to think of it as a Dadaist exercise, where arbitrary rules and randomness dig up things of true beauty from the Internet's subconscious.

Or, you know, maybe the monkey in us likes imitating all the other monkeys.
